Presentation of elements from The Deep, a book documenting the unexplored deep sea creatures.

As part of a growing startup, there was a need to understand their internal production process while communicating it to various partners and stakeholders. The role each person contributed to the final product throughout the software production process was integral in viewing the entirety of their contribution. This process map helped facilitate executive leadership to agree on the process.

Independently, I facilitated meetings with upper management, the head of engineering, and illustrated the diagram to accurately represent the flow of work.

Under contract for an agency, I worked with the team at Google to develop Shopping Express. Together, we explored the journey as I created a service design map to illustrate the process of the customers and the opportunities the business would employ.

In 2010, I illustrated over 200 buildings in San Francisco to support a story written in the Panorama, a newspaper published by McSweeny’s.

The Lalapalooza festival was one of the largest festivals in Grant Park of Chicago. I conceptualized the layout with the surrounding skyline, illustrated buildings of surrounding landmarks, and designed details within the map (trees, color palette, stage design, and patterns) to emphasize the transformation the festival brought to the location.

Chicago Tribune travel maps had feature stories that lent themselves to variations on the standard style. With this story about a journey through islands of northern part of North America, I took the opportunity to use watercolor to represent autumn leaves as representation of the land.
