In 2019, The Global Investment Research division of Goldman Sachs decided to add interactivity to their research reports. Previously, they had focused on printed reports that would serve clients across the firm.

Within the digital content subscription-based portal, the firm was looking to increase engagement across reports and brought me onto the team to assist with interactivity as the way forward.

 Due to the sensitive nature of the data within reports and the lack of off-the-shelf on-prem tools at the firm, I found Scalable Vector Graphics as a custom solution to design and develop tools that would assist with visually explaining analysts con

Due to the sensitive nature of the data within reports and the lack of off-the-shelf on-prem tools at the firm, I found Scalable Vector Graphics as a custom solution to design and develop tools that would assist with visually explaining analysts concepts for our clients.

Independently, I consulted with analysts to conceptualize an idea that would support their report. Once we agreed on a vision, I would proceed to design and develop the exhibits using CSS, XML, and javascript.

 In addition to creating individual exhibits, I worked with the core UX team to standardize icons and create evergreen content that would support future exhibits.

Over the course of a year, I established a consistent icon library, standardized map projections, and mentored junior team members on the workings of SVG. User engagement increased and analysts were thrilled with seeing their reports express content that communicated clearly to clients.
